Plant Description and Details

leaves clothe Rocky Mt. Maple's 20' tall clump of stems. A substantial shrub presence, red, orange or yellow fall colors enhance the landscape. Rocky Mt. Maple is more cold hardy and does not spread by hanging branches that root like its relative the Vine Maple. Try it as a native alternative to Japanese Maple, as long as it gets the 20-30" of annual rainfall that it's accustomed to in the mountains.
