Plant Description and Details
Fringed Sage is a low-growing counterpart to its other drought-tolerant sagebrush compatriots. It grows up to 18" tall, then channels its energies laterally, forming an attractive mat/ subshrub of fine-textured leaves. It can tolerate some mowing, andwill hold its own against grasses. It is adaptable to many settings, but thrives on well-drained, dry soils only. Native peoples enjoyed its savory essential oils in ceremonial smudges.
