Plant Description and Details

One of the best compact sagebrushes for home landscapes. The twisted and peeling dark gray/brown bark gives rise to the "Black Sagebrush" name. It's topped with the classic silvery aromatic sageleaves that persist year-round. It differs from its larger relative, Big Sagebrush, in several important features: Black Sagebrush is smaller, darker, and upright (doesn't flop over) and thrives on gravelly sites.
