Plant Description and Details

As if to compensate for its dreary native landscape, Desert Paintbrush unfurls large, showy, tufted flowers on a compact plant. It takes up residence in dry soils, such as the extreme salt deserts of Utah. Sagebrush and Ponderosa Pine canoften be found in the same environments. Needs a companion plant like sagebrush. Ours come already growing with a host plant of a native grass or perennial.
