Plant Description and Details

Another gorgeous penstemon! A natural for rock gardens and sunny spots. Waxy, deep green leaves are arranged as if starched in place around the stem, and they stay put throughout the winter. Showy, bell-shapedlavendar-to-rose-purple flowers, snapdragon look-alikes, make their debut in the summer. Attracts pollinators, (bumblebees especially) and hummingbirds. The Lewis & Clark expedition collected samples of Shrubby Penstemon in 1806, near Weippe, ID.
