Details on this Special

This May 15 photo of Idaho fescue shows heading. Seed heads emerge in May and the seed is ripe about July 1. Idaho Fescue is native to Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington.

Idaho fescue plant in late winter. It only needs about 10 inches of annual precipitation and it will compete handsomely with cheatgrass (Bromus tectorum), if you give it a boost by hand weeding while it becomes established.

Idaho Fescue massed prairie planting in March.

One bundle of 10 Idaho Fescue Estate Plugs™.

Estate Plugs™ of Idaho Fescue will establish in 4 months to be as big as a 1 gallon potted plant, but so much easier to plant! Mature size of fescue bunch is 12-14 inches across. Mow or trim seedheads in July and irrigate 3-6” to keep plant actively growing instead of going dormant for the summer. Plant Idaho Fescue in groups 12-24 inches apart or in straight or curved lines or use to border beds. Festuca Idahoensis Idaho Fescue
